The Lincoln Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Johnston Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
Lincoln had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Burrillville on Saturday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Broncos. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
London Rapko looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lincoln got a massive performance out of Sydney Marchand, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Tillson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Johnston fell victim to Cranston West and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Johnston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Boudreau, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Lincoln, their record is now 8-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lincoln has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Johnston struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln beat Johnston 5-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
