Wolfson has won four straight games at home, while Stanton has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Wolfpack will welcome the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Wolfson's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
Wolfson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Parker 15-0. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by ten runs or more this season.
Isabel Nieves was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Peyton Brown was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Wolfson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Stanton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Eagle's View 14-13.
Leah Joseph was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 21 batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and six unearned) runs off 13 hits. Those 21 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmalyn Gensch, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bailey Forrest, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Stanton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Wolfson, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wolfson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stanton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wolfson took their victory against Stanton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
