Hudson has gone 9-1 against Cairo-Durham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bluehawks will challenge the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Hudson barely beat Catskill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bluehawks blew past the Cats 13-3 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bluehawks have posted against the Cats since May 26, 2021.
Kam Duntz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Gannon Logue was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Trent Keller, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Cairo-Durham won against Greenville on Monday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on Germantown with a sharp 13-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.
Hudson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cairo-Durham, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hudson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cairo-Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Hudson's way against Cairo-Durham in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Hudson made off with an 18-0 victory. Do the Bluehawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
