The Forrest City Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to Brookland. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Forrest City in their matchups with Brookland: they've now lost three in a row.
Roshawd Washington and Dakwon Scott certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Washington picked up 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Scott threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Washington's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards.
Forrest City's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9-1. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Brookland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Forrest City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brookland also has no future games currently scheduled.
