The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws were the 52-37 winner over the Perry Central Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. St. Stanislaus was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 40-39 to Perry Central.
Perry Central was led to victory by Austin Jones and Kaden Bolton. Jones scored ten points along with eight assists and six rebounds, while Bolton dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Bolton has scored at least a third of Perry Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Auston Dantzler, who scored two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
St. Stanislaus' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Perry Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
St. Stanislaus won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Patrick at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. St. Patrick will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Perry Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Long Beach at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
