Lakeside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Vista del Lago Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
Even though Heritage scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Lakeside still came out on top. Lakeside took their match against Heritage 78-69.
Lakeside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maurice Turner, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Turner has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Andrew Knudson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vista del Lago's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-43 walloping at the hands of Heritage. Vista del Lago has not had much luck with Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Lakeside's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Vista del Lago, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Lakeside took their victory against Vista del Lago when the teams last played on January 5th by a conclusive 66-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
