Charlottesville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Culpeper County Blue Devils. The Black Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.
Andrew Cullinan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). In other pitching news, Julian Mark-Williams looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
