Delphi Community has gone a perfect 6-0 against Tri-Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Oracles will challenge the Trojans at 5:45 p.m. Delphi Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Delphi Community took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pioneer, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Oracles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers on Thursday, sneaking past 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Oracles.
Kylynn Spitznagle was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Sami Leopard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Delphi Community lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tri-Central came up short against Carroll on Tuesday, falling 13-3. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Tri-Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Maruszewski, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Layla Keith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Delphi Community now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tri-Central, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Tri-Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Delphi Community hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Tri-Central, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Delphi Community's hitters?
Everything went Delphi Community's way against Tri-Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Delphi Community made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Oracles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
