It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Elberta ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs by a score of 11-7. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lynleigh May and Ava Sanks did most of the damage at the plate: May went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Sanks went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Sanks has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Addison Cranford, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Elberta's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for UMS-Wright Prep, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-6-1.

Coming up, UMS-Wright Prep will venture away from home to challenge McGill-Toolen at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elberta will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' matchup: after the Bulldogs face off against St. Paul's Episcopal, they'll take on Elberta again at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th.
