Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Falls Despite Big Games from Cash Sanchez and Jeremiah Combs

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's tournament run continued when they took on Waterford on Thursday. The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars fell 46-35 to the Waterford Ravens. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 11 points.

Despite the loss, Pinecrest Academy Cadence had strong showings from Jeremiah Combs, who posted ten points and six rebounds, and Cash Sanchez, who put up four points and six rebounds. What's more, Sanchez also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2023.

Waterford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Preston Jenkins, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. Carter Nielson was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Waterford, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-50 defeat against GV Christian on the 3rd. As for Waterford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-53 loss against Doral Academy Red Rock on the 3rd.
