Make it nine blowout wins for the Franklinton Rams this season. They blew past Roanoke Rapids 66-21 on the road on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Franklinton as they're now sitting on 16 straight.
Franklinton was led to victory by Mikayla Taborn and Asia Burton. Taborn scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, while Burton scored 22 points along with three steals and three blocks. Shontalae Evans was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Roanoke Rapids lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shaniah Daniels. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Daniels is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Roanoke Rapids struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Franklinton pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Roanoke Rapids, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Franklinton will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roanoke Rapids, they will head out on the road to square off against the Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
