The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will head out on the road to challenge the Deer Park Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madeira is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Madeira beat Mt. Healthy 54-47.
Madeira's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Manning, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peter Laux, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Deer Park came into Wednesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Norwood with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 63-49.
Madeira's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Deer Park, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
Everything came up roses for Madeira against Deer Park when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 64-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madeira since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
