Blacklick Valley hasn't had much luck against Windber recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will challenge the Ramblers at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Blacklick Valley will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Bishop Carroll, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Vikings walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Huskies on Monday.
Paige Kelley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Kelley was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lauren Rohrabaugh and Averi Yewcic did most of the damage at the plate: Rohrabaugh went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Yewcic went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Yewcic a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Woods, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Windber put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Glendale a 10-0 shutout. Fans of the Ramblers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Blacklick Valley, Windber also got a great game from a two-way player: Addie Slatcoff. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Slatcoff has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kaylie Gaye was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Rylee Baer was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Windber's record is now 3-0. As for Blacklick Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Blacklick Valley might still be hurting after the 19-0 defeat they got from Windber in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
