The Fike Demons had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down Hunt 27-10. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fike also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Fike's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Artis, who picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Artis was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Bud Woodard, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Hunt lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ny'gir Alston. Despite the final result, he picked up 78 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fike has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Hunt, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.
Fike will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southern Lee at 7:00 p.m. Southern Lee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Hunt will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Williams will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
