Downers Grove North waltzed into their game on Saturday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They blew past the Downers Grove South Mustangs 10-4. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Nick Konopiots tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brady Schallmoser was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. JD Cumbee was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Downers Grove North's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Downers Grove South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Downers Grove North will challenge Oak Park-River Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Downers Grove South, they will take on Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Berwyn/Cicero Morton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something Downers Grove South will no doubt try to take advantage of.
