While Carver Birmingham's victory against Wenonah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dragons 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.
Ezekiel Woodside made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Carver Birmingham let Dejalin Woodside and Isaiah Simon run wild. Woodside went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Simon went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Woodside has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jonathan Scott also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Carver Birmingham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wenonah only posted a batting average of .059.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cornerstone's offense. They came up short against Victory Christian on Friday, falling 7-0. The Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Carver Birmingham's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Cornerstone, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Carver Birmingham came out on top in a nail-biter against Cornerstone in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 9-7. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
