The Lewis J. Bennett Tigers's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against East by a score of 67-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
East's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antoine Williams, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Rhondell Johnson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, East were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory got Lewis J. Bennett back to even at 3-3. As for East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis J. Bennett's road trip will continue as they head out to face Griffith Institute at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for East, they will challenge McKinley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
