The Franklin Patriots will challenge the Glenn Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Franklin is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
On Saturday, Franklin beat Walled Lake Central 10-5.
Brendan Bache made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Franklin let Luke Ogden and Nick Cox run wild. Ogden went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Cox went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave Ogden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Ruhl, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 16 hits in four consecutive contests.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Glenn and Dearborn had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rockets had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 6-5. The game was the first time the Rockets have beaten the Pioneers on their field since May 13, 2024.
Franklin pushed their record up to 23-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their victory bumped their record up to 6-22.
Franklin took their win against Glenn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
