The Meadows School is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 3rd on Saturday. They lost 9-0 to Desert Oasis. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
The Meadows School saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Sports Leadership & Management hadn't done well against Boulder City recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulls have posted since April 24, 2024.
Audric Gregorio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Sports Leadership & Management is 4-1 when Gregorio allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-14 otherwise.
At the plate, Alex Garcia and Jameson Murray did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run, while Murray went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. River Crose-Weyrich was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Sports Leadership & Management is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for The Meadows School, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.
Everything went The Meadows School's way against Sports Leadership & Management in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as The Meadows School made off with a 17-4 victory.
