The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs entered their tilt with the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Lynchburg-Clay's way against Fayetteville-Perry on Thursday as Lynchburg-Clay made off with a 58-35 victory. Lynchburg-Clay might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 23 points or more this season.
Lynchburg-Clay had a senior duo take command as Jade Massey dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds and Addison West scored 22 points along with five assists. The match was West's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison McMullen, who scored five points.
Fayetteville-Perry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Scarlett Crawford, who scored ten points. Ryley Kleemeyer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lynchburg-Clay's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Fayetteville-Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Lynchburg-Clay will head out on the road to face off against North Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fayetteville-Perry will be home for the holidays to greet Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Fayetteville-Perry is ranked 170th).
