Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the El Monte Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Rough Riders by a score of 4-3.
El Monte hit California Military Institute with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Nelson Amador,
Aaron Rivera, and
Alan Ruiz.
El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6-2. As for California Military Institute, their win bumped their record up to 9-6-3.
El Monte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for California Military Institute, they will face off against Maranatha at TBD on Friday. Maranatha will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something California Military Institute surely won't give up without a fight.
