The West Carroll Thunder's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 13th straight loss. They were outmatched by Stockton at home and fell 60-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Carroll of the 71-24 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Stockton was led to victory by Madie Mammoser and Dylann Broshous. Mammoser dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Broshous scored 15 points along with four steals. Mammoser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ireland Mensendike, who scored ten points.
West Carroll has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season. As for Stockton, the win got them back to even at 13-13.
West Carroll will stay at home for another game and welcome the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. River Ridge/Scales Mound presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Thunder in Illinois (the Wildcats are ranked 218th, while the Thunder are ranked 630th). Stockton is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
