SPEEDWAY, Ind. - Special teams carried
Speedway (Ind.) to a 62-21 victory over Park Tudor (Indianapolis, Ind.) on Saturday as the return units contributed three touchdowns. The special teams of the Sparkplugs scored on three kick returns.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, Speedway was up 56-14 at the half.
SHS grew its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. The Sparkplugs scored once in the quarter on a kick return touchdown by
Jordan Furlow.
Speedway put up 34 points in the first quarter en route to the win. SHS scored on a defensive touchdown, a touchdown run, a kick return touchdown by
Cameron Knight, a Furlow touchdown run and a touchdown catch by
Justin Brent in the quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Park Tudor, who notched a 19-7 victory over South Decatur in its previous outing. With the win the Sparkplugs extended their winning streak to three games.
