Yucca Valley is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Yucca Valley put up the most points they have all season last Friday. They blew past Banning 62-42. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aiden Pope was his usual excellent self, picking up 305 receiving yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 132 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 106.3 receiving yards per game. Ian Jarrett got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Yucca Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Yucca Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Jarrett picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Coachella Valley not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since October 3, 2024 (when they won 48-6). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Desert Mirage 56-14.
Yucca Valley better focus on containing Ivan Camargo and Ivan Garza as the pair were huge in Coachella Valley's win. Camargo gained 216 total yards and three touchdowns, while Garza threw for 199 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Camargo also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Coachella Valley is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Fernando Avi?a, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Yucca Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Coachella Valley, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Clyde King and Camargo. King just won't slow down this season and has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 128.7 rushing yards per game. Camargo has been a dominant force too and has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 145.8 rushing yards per game.
Yucca Valley might still be hurting after the 47-24 loss they got from Coachella Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Camargo, who rushed for 201 yards and four scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Now that the Trojans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
