Softball Recap: Dundee Has No Trouble Against Madison

Dundee won the last time they faced Madison and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Trojans. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Kaylee Imo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Imo was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Rath, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Annalyse Lay, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Dundee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.

Dundee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dundee will head out to challenge Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will venture away from home to face off against Shrine Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
