In what's become a running theme this season, the Lincoln North Star Navigators gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They breezed by Burke on the road to the tune of 68-27. Given Lincoln North Star's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 194th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln North Star got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ani Leu out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. Leu hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Anderson, who scored 13 points along with seven steals.
Lincoln North Star pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Burke, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Lincoln North Star and the Spartans will face off at 5:45 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lincoln East is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Burke, they will head out on the road to challenge the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
