The Macksville Mustangs can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 54-32 margin over Victoria. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Macksville also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macksville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mayce Russell, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabela Ortiz, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals.
Despite the loss, Victoria still got an impressive performance from Kennidy Amrein, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. Brinly Lichter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Macksville and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Victoria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Macksville will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victoria, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
