Softball Recap: Bishop Moore Has No Trouble Against Pine Ridge

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bishop Moore walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Pine Ridge Panthers on Monday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Riley Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ariana Lara was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Griffin, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bishop Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Ridge only posted an OBP of .308.

With the win, Bishop Moore broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-15. As for Pine Ridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18-1.

Looking ahead, Bishop Moore will challenge New Smyrna Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
