Skyline is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Niwot a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Skyline Falcons will take on the Niwot Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Skyline, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Northridge. Skyline has struggled against Northridge recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Skyline saw an underclassman step up: Aniah Dothard almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Dothard scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Keira Reuter, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-27, which was the final score in Niwot's tilt against Mountain View on Thursday. Niwot was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.
Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Niwot, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-17.
Skyline beat Niwot 47-37 in their previous meeting last Thursday. Will Skyline repeat their success, or does Niwot have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
