After two games on the road, Platte Canyon is heading back home. They will take on the South Park Burros at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Platte Canyon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Saturday, Platte Canyon came up short against Arrupe Jesuit and fell 30-19. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Platte Canyon in their matchups with Arrupe Jesuit: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Platte Canyon had strong showings from Sydney Curtis, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Liza Lineberry, who scored seven points. Lineberry continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caley Erickson, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-28 walloping at the hands of Sargent. While losing is never fun, South Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Sargent is ranked 131st).
Platte Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for South Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
