The Preble Shawnee Arrows will head out on the road to challenge the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Preble Shawnee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Preble Shawnee narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indians 42-40.
Ashleigh Mondello-garrett was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Addison Sargent-eckert was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Mississinawa Valley came tearing into Monday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Houston 67-28 on the road. Mississinawa Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 26 points or more this season.
Preble Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Mississinawa Valley, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Preble Shawnee strolled past the Blackhawks in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Preble Shawnee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
