While the Rochester Falcons couldn't quite beat the Stoney Creek Cougars on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point defeat they were dealt last Thursday. Rochester fell just short of Stoney Creek by a score of 30-28. While losing is never fun, Rochester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Stoney Creek is ranked 13th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stoney Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Calista Ivezaj, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Izzy Ivezaj, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Rochester has fallen quite a ways from their 18-7 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Stoney Creek, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rochester will challenge Royal Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stoney Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
