Hammonds dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists, while Huff went 9 for 17 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 0 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Huff has scored at least a third of Lee's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bishop, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why John Battle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kara Kelley. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelley has scored all season. Keeley Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
John Battle struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lee racked up 14 assists.
Lee's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for John Battle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lee will take on the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for John Battle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Wise presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Trojans in Virginia (the Warriors are ranked 24th, while the Trojans are ranked 247th).
