Southwestern recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Southwestern this week, Edwardsville beat Lincoln-Way East 21-14. The victory was the 12th in a row for the Tigers.
East St. Louis and Providence Catholic played the most contested game in the league this week, with East St. Louis eventually emerging with a 27-26 victory.
On the heels of Camden Bauer and Kentrail Moran, O'Fallon has had great success on offense. Bauer leads the league in passing with 2,079 yards, while Moran has rushed for 1,140 yards this season. The Flyers' Jeff Thomas leads the league in receiving yards with 853 on 45 catches.
Gregory Taylor of the East St. Louis is just 29 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 110 carries Taylor has put up 971 yards this year.
Darren Sunkett's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 290 from 395. The advance stemmed from a 27-26 victory over the Celtics last week.
