They were outmatched by Glennallen on the road and fell 59-13. Effie Kokrine Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-3.
Meanwhile, Minto was beaten by Walter Northway 72-44 on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minto in their matchups with Walter Northway: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their loss, Minto saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Reese Gibson, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ruth Fox, who scored 12 points.
Effie Kokrine Charter's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.6 points per game. As for Minto, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Effie Kokrine Charter came up short against Minto in their previous matchup back in February of 2017, falling 41-33. Can Effie Kokrine Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
