The Beachside Barracudas had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past ED White with points to spare, taking the game 62-44. Given Beachside's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while ED White is ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Beachside to victory were Morgan Cremen and Kendall Kane. Cremen scored 13 points along with seven steals, while Kane scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The match was Cremen's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Madilyn (Madi) Ray was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Despite the defeat, ED White saw an underclassman step up: Falisa White dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. White scored a full 50% of ED White's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Jackson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Beachside pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for ED White, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beachside has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bartram Trail at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Bartram Trail is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. ED White won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Orange Park at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Mychaela Parker and Leandrea McCloud.
