Eastside Catholic took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lincoln, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Lynx 4-3 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kailee McCauley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. McCauley was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
McCauley wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Crawford, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Logan McCloskey also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Eastside Catholic's record now sits at 7-10. As for Lincoln, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Coming up, Eastside Catholic will head out to square off against Newport - Bellevue at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.84 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lincoln, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Seattle Prep at 3:30 p.m.
