The Oakland-Craig Knights will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the West Point-Beemer Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Oakland-Craig ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Madison with a 65-59 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Oakland-Craig relied on the efforts of Braylon Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Isaak Maxwell, who scored 21 points. Anderson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Mason Pearson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Madison typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday West Point-Beemer proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Dragons 60-43.
Oakland-Craig's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for West Point-Beemer, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Oakland-Craig didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Point-Beemer when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakland-Craig since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
