On Monday, the Dunbar Crimson Tide faced the McKinley Tech Trainers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dunbar blew past McKinley Tech 58-18 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Dunbar has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dunbar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emorean Thomas, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luv Barron, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McKinley Tech struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dunbar posted 16 assists.
Dunbar now has a winning record of 10-9. As for McKinley Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Dunbar will head out on the road to challenge Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for McKinley Tech, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Anacostia at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Anacostia is ranked eighth, while McKinley Tech is ranked 14th).
