The Santana Sultans will challenge the El Capitan Vaqueros at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Santana's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while El Capitan has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Santana's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Steele Canyon. Considering the Sultans have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Santana got a massive performance out of Gabby Sneddon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Sneddon a new career-high. Samantha Mora was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Santana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, El Capitan hadn't done well against West Hills recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Vaqueros walked away with a 9-6 win over the Wolf Pack.
The team relied heavily on Addison Higuera, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Simone, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Santana's victory bumped their record up to 12-9-1. As for El Capitan, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-10.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Santana hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. However, it's not like El Capitan struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Santana got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 14th against El Capitan by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Sultans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vaqueros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
