The La Grange Leopards will be playing at home against the Giddings Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. La Grange will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
La Grange put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 67-33 victory over Austin Achieve at home. Given La Grange's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 1498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nathan Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds. Reece Nygren was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Giddings suffered a tough 76-54 defeat at the hands of the Ducks on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Giddings in their matchups with the Ducks: they've now lost three in a row.
La Grange has been performing well recently as they've won 19 of their last 23 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. As for Giddings, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.
Everything came up roses for La Grange against the Buffaloes in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 68-41 win. Does La Grange have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
