Softball Recap: Centerburg Wins Going Away Against East Knox

Centerburg won the last time they faced East Knox and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 19-3 win. Considering the Trojans have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kayla Ferrell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydnee Schoonover, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Centerburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Centerburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for East Knox, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12-1.

Looking ahead, Centerburg will challenge Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for East Knox, they will square off against Danville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
