The Rampart Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 94-75 bruising from Doherty. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (61), Rampart still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Rampart had strong showings from Elias Bishop, who scored 21 points, and Deangelo Smith, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bishop has scored all season. Myles Chavarria was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Doherty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Pulliam, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Pulliam posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Elijah Mack, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Rampart bumped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Doherty, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Rampart won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Doherty, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
