Baseball Recap: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Takes a Loss

If Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Tidewater Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Brunswick Academy Vikings by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Nathan Danburg was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Parker Metacarpa was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Brunswick Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will welcome Kenston Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kavaliers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Brunswick Academy, they will head out to take on Fuqua at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
