The Tiverton Tigers will challenge the Barrington Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tiverton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
Tiverton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Cranston East, who was ranked 15th at the time (Tiverton was ranked 16th). The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Thunderbolts on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 21st.

Lia Doster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carlie Martin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jersey-Ann Hastie, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barrington). Everything went their way against North Providence on Monday as they made off with a 19-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Maya Etheridge (2026), who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Ruby Ciummo (2025) was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Barrington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are 10-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Barrington pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tiverton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Barrington's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Tiverton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Barrington, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 strikeouts. Will Tiverton keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Everything went Tiverton's way against Barrington in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, as Tiverton made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
