The Central Cass Squirrels had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 48-41 win over Lisbon on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central Cass also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the loss, Lisbon still got an impressive performance from Kyra Haecherl, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Haecherl is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaia Sweet, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Central Cass' victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lisbon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Central Cass will head out on the road to face off against Langdon at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lisbon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northern Cass and Lisbon are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
