After three games on the road, Floyd Central is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Seton LaSalle Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Floyd Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Floyd Central pushed their score all the way to 87 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Landrum 91-87. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (56), Floyd Central still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Braden Moore, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. The matchup was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Samons, who scored 23 points.
Even though they lost, Floyd Central were working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Seton LaSalle's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 80-62 bruising from Bethel Park. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Floyd Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Seton LaSalle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
