Millennium is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They will host the Desert Vista Thunder at 3:45 p.m. Millennium is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Millennium had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt San Luis on Thursday. Millennium blew past San Luis 9-1.

Charlotte McCloskey was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. McCloskey was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
McCloskey wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nayelli Banuelos, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Banuelos posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 15 games. Another was Cassie Garza, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Millennium hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Desert Vista was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Verrado by a score of 3-2.
Mckenzie Leitgen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Millennium is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. Desert Vista's loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millennium hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Desert Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .582. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millennium might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Desert Vista in their previous matchup back in March of 2018. Will Millennium have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
