Brookhaven Academy extended the longest winning streak in MAIS AA District 5 this week by beating Trinity Episcopal Day, 34-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Cougars.
Brookhaven Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gage Posey has thrown for 2172 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Seth Rushing has 56 catches for 997 yards. Landon Nettles leads the league in rushing with 888 yards.
Brookhaven Academy's Rushing is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only three receiving yards against Columbia Academy to hit that benchmark.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tripp McCarty's team takes on the Cougars. The Cougars are currently in first, while Columbia Academy is in third.
The Cougars led MAIS AA District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Adams County Christian.
