The Foundation Christian Academy Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 46-22 walloping at the hands of Academy at the Lakes.
When it comes to explaining why Foundation Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joe Mackey. Despite the final result, he picked up 173 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tyndale Pittman had a good game too, finishing with 287 passing yards and three touchdowns in total.
Foundation Christian Academy's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Four Corners and 7-1 Donahue Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.7% over those games). As for Academy at the Lakes, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Foundation Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (The Classical Academy of Sarasota is ranked 20th, while Foundation Christian Academy is ranked 23rd). As for Academy at the Lakes, they will be playing at home against Riverside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
